Established in 1982, Wexford Publishing became the parent company for an array of projects documenting the cultures of the Texas Coastal Bend. This website seeks to become a portal to a vanishing world
so that the lessons lived do not become forgotten voices

, Tales from the San’tone River Bottom, Volume 1, Origins
& Volume 2, Historic Times

. We have amassed 10,000 photographs spanning the late nineteenth century to the present day and we have recorded over 800 hours of audio interviews. In 2006, for Black History Month , we mounted a museum installation entitled Echoes: Memories of a Black Culture.

What We Want to Do
We are establishing an online presence to make available to the digital world, all of the historical material that Louise O'Connor
has carefully collected and created for the past twenty-eight years. As these archived assets are organized, tagged, and scanned, we will publish online, a searchable database in the hope that the hard earned wisdom of these cultures will be brought to life. We envision this website as a repository for all the history of the Coastal Bend. In the future, we will welcome relevant contributions; audio, photographs, text, genealogies, and motion pictures.
